RelayStation's RelayAlert product is a compelling disaster recovery and business continuity solution for government, emergency services and enterprises. Singularly, it enables you to contact the general public, stakeholders and employees before and during disasters by their preferred method; voice, SMS, fax or email simultaneously, at low-cost and in a highly secure environment this can be one-way messaging in these formats or interactive enabling responses from recipients, by simply pushing a key to confirm receipt of a message.

Agencies such as Animal Health use RelayAlert to warn farmers, vets and others involved in animal health issues about new bird flu outbreaks, for example. RelayAlert is also at the heart of the Government Gateway enabling people to securely pay taxes, claim child tax credits, pay parking fines, or check pension entitlements, and much, much more.

During disasters, communication obstacles are all but inevitable. A successful disaster response plan should anticipate communication failures and account for inaccessible communication channels, such as downed phone lines for example during the 7/7 bombings or exchange/mast congestion. Obtaining multiple modes of contact from staff, responders and stakeholders increases the odds that you'll be able to reach everyone necessary in a timely manner, the RelayStation Subscription and Data Miner solution enables you to record, store and maintain all this information in such a way it can be rapidly accessed, and synchronously deploy mass messaging in multiple formats in a few short yet critical minutes. It is also flexible enough to allow administrators to create responder groups specific to the emergency they are engaged with.

Broadcasts can be monitored in real time via RelayStation's Monitor Control Tools, for instance if Animal Health need to send a broadcast request for emergency vets in a certain geographic area, they can rapidly filter their data by geographic area and stakeholder groups within a few seconds. Next they attach their messages; messages can be pre-defined from their data store or written and/or recorded into the integrated voice recorder on the fly in both situations this process takes just a few minutes. Various security administrator rights can be applied to the various members of staff, for instance a junior member of staff might only be allowed to issue messages that are previously authorised and stored as templates within the message stores, whereas senior members may have full access and be able to compose and send messages freely.
